About this Series:

Inspiration: During quarantine, I started a new creative hobby - building miniature houses - and I painted a tiny leaf in watercolor to hang on a tiny bathroom wall. I hadn't used watercolor since high school, but that tiny leaf helped me rediscover a new love!

Process: I began each painting by choosing a flower or plant to feature, but I let the final composition evolve as I went along. My artistic process usually involves planning, sketching, and being super controlled. I really enjoyed working with watercolor and painting more loosely and intuitively.

Dedication: I dedicate this series to my fabulous mother-in-law, Paula, who was a loving supporter of my art. Sadly, cancer took her before this series was completed. I hope my love and admiration for her shines through in each petal and leaf.
