A bohemian-style special event (e.g., a boho wedding) is casual, unstuffy, and relaxed. It’s an eclectic mix of styles that complement one another and turn into something unexpectedly elegant. A formal church wedding or uptight hotel banquet hall reception are definitely not the right fit for everyone, so if you’re the kind of woman who prefers a more laid-back affair, then a boho wedding or event is a great alternative!
I recently participated in a styled photoshoot for a faux boho wedding (a fauxho wedding! ;) ) and lent out several pieces of my jewelry. A few talented vendors – a photographer, dress shop owner, makeup artist, hairstylist, and a florist – also joined in and we were able to collaborate on some great shots! As you can see, these vintage-style bridal gowns are simpler than the fancy-schmancy ones we typically see. I especially love that they can be worn again to another event! The tea length and the subtle details of the necklines go beautifully with the jewelry pieces. As much as I love sparkle and bling, too much can be overkill with some looks. In this case, the jewelry and the dresses complement each other without screaming for all the attention. Both the makeup and the loose curls and casual up-dos are pretty and polished but natural and not overly done. Even the floral arrangements have a lovely combination of flowers that fit the mood.
