I'm pleased to announce that Sparkling Vine Design was featured in the August issue of Natural Awakenings magazine! The article, "Green Arts: Tips for Finding Safe Eco-Supplies," focuses on artists, crafters, and designers who use eco-friendly materials in their work.
Many of my pieces are made from upcycled wine corks and repurposed chandelier crystals. I use primarily non-toxic and water-based products, such as painting with acrylics and even red wine on some of my corks! I try to avoid harsh fumes and chemicals as much as possible. That way, I don't have to be concerned about breathing in dangerous fumes, and I can simply wash paint or glue off my hands and brushes with a little soap and water. I stay safer and so does the environment.
Natural Awakenings is a national magazine available online and in print that offers "the latest natural approaches to nutrition, fitness, creative expression, personal growth and sustainable living."
